Basildon Pride Support Directory: You are not alone

In 2021, Basildon Pride launched a new and improved website, kindly made possible following a successful grant from the National Lottery’s Community Fund. This brings together all of the activities of Basildon Pride CIO into one place, including our charitable purposes, our sponsors, our festival details, year-round events, our merchandise shop, how people can help us with donations and fundraising and details of our Basildon Pride Everyday programme.

LGBT+ Support Directory

What it also offers is a unique Support Directory. Organised under several key themes relevant to the LGBT+ community, we have compiled the links to other charities and support organisations that could help anyone from the LGBT+ community, their families or allies. Perhaps you are currently questioning your gender identity, or your worried about your sexual health or have had a tough time coming out to your families and friends and need mental health support?

To access the Directory go to our homepage and click the “Support & Contact Us” tab.

Transgender Awareness Week 2021

With this week being Transgender Awareness Week, we know that the journey our transgender and non-binary siblings take to live their truth is very rarely an easy one. Basildon Pride wants you to know that you are not alone; help is out there. We have provided the helplines and websites of a number of organisations that support people with gender questioning, gender identity, gender dysphoria and gender diversity including one focused solely on young people or parents.
