Raffle Terms & Conditions

1. Basildon Pride’s Grade Raffle is an incidental, non-commercial lottery, as defined by the Gambling Commission.

2. Its purpose is to raise money for Basildon Pride CIO, Registered Charity No. 1193090; which will be used to support the delivery of its varied work helping the local LGBT+ community.

3. To enter, you must purchase at least one raffle ticket strip for £1, which entitles the player to 1 chance in the draw. All strips regardless of colour are the same price, per strip. A discounted bulk price of £5 is available however for 6 strips of any colour.

4. This raffle is open to residents living in mainland Great Britain (England, Wales and Scotland).

5. Entries to this raffle are limited to 100 strips per person; or combined raffle strip purchase value £84.

6. Whilst incidental lottery raffle tickets can be sold to children by law; Basildon Pride CIO will not sell tickets to anyone under the age of 16, unless accompanied by a paying adult. Proof of age may be required at the point of purchase.

7. Payment for participation in the raffle can be made by cash, or by debit or credit cards, including smartphone/smartwatch payments at Basildon Pride Stall, Basildon Pride Festival on 6th September 2025.

8. Raffle tickets will be entered into the draw only when the full payment has been made.

9. A first name and telephone number will be taken and written on the retained ticket stub in order to contact the winners after the draw. All stubs are destroyed following the draw to protect personal information in line with our Privacy Policy.

10.Basildon Pride CIO accepts no responsibility for raffle tickets which are lost, damaged, illegible, or from which the prize winner cannot be identified.

11.Winning raffle tickets will be drawn randomly. The first ticket drawn will entitle the winner to the first numbered prize. All subsequent tickets drawn will win prizes in numerical order until all prizes have a winning ticket. 

12.Winners agree to comply with any terms and conditions of any third-party suppliers that have donated prizes that can be won through the raffle.

13.There is no cash alternative for any of the prizes.

14.The result of the raffle draw is final. No correspondence will be entered into.

15.Winners will be notified in person by telephone, as soon as possible, after the draw date by 13  September 2025. Please keep the ticket number as proof of purchase.

16.A list of winning ticket numbers will be published on www.basildonpride.co.uk/blog.

17.Where Basildon Pride CIO is unable to contact a prize winner and that prize remains unclaimed for 3 days following Basildon Pride CIO’s first attempt to notify the prize winner, Basildon Pride CIO will void the winning ticket and redraw a ticket for this prize. This process will continue until all prizes are allocated.

18. Winners may be requested to provide proof of age at ticket purchase points and at prize claiming stage and adherence to this will be expected as part of the agreement to these terms and conditions.

19. Any complaints relating to this raffle should be sent in writing to sponsor@basildonpride.co.uk giving full details of the complaint and supporting documentation.
