Supporting Trans Lives in Basildon and Beyond
At Basildon Pride, we’re committed to raising awareness of the discrimination and challenges faced by trans people in the UK and worldwide. Our work centres lived experiences, practical guidance, and clear steps we can all take to build a more inclusive society.
Transcend Community
Transcend is a volunteer-led group offering social support, connection, and community for trans and gender-diverse people, and welcoming allies who want to learn and stand with us.
We host inclusive bimonthly events at The Craft Shed, East Walk, Basildon, creating a safe, welcoming space where trans+ people and allies can:
· Connect and build friendships
· Access peer support
· Join creative workshops
· Take part in social events
· Hear from educational speakers
Our aim is to nurture a community where everyone feels seen, supported, and celebrated.
Education & Resources
We work closely with Transpire Southend, local organisations, councils, and community services to advocate for positive change, always with trans voices at the heart of the conversation.
Our mission is to make Basildon a safer, more understanding place for everyone. To achieve this, we deliver tailored trans-allyship workshops for:
· Local organisations
· Businesses
· Schools
· Workplaces
· Basildon Council
These sessions raise awareness, challenge misinformation, and foster genuine inclusion.
We believe in standing up, speaking out, and shaping a better future with trans+ voices leading the way.
